Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based, skills-focused group that helps individuals regulate their moods and impulses, deal with distress, and manage relationships effectively. DBT skills have been shown to be useful for anxiety, depression, self-defeating habits and addictions.

As you develop skills in Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness, you will learn how to…

  • Increase your awareness and let go of thoughts that contribute to emotional suffering
  • Decrease unwanted behaviors that sabotage your goals
  • Stay present in the “hear and now,” participating more fully in life
  • Cope with crises and painful situations without making things worse
  • Let go of judgments of yourself and others as you learn to increase compassion
  • Manage your moods so that they don’t dominate your life

Participants attend a weekly group session, as well as weekly individual sessions at our standard rates.
